Wilson A2000 DP15 Baseball Glove Review

Wilson A2000 DP15

The Wilson A2000 DP15 is tailored for the best performance that you can ask from a baseball glove.

We all know that Wilson A2000s are probably the best infielders glove out right now.  I see so many major leaguers, high schoolers, and college players use it.  Since I’m an outfielder, I don’t use gloves like these but I have seen many teammates use A2000s.

By the way, if Russell Wilson uses Wilson baseball gloves in the big leagues, it shows how good Wilson makes their gloves. Also if you are wondering, this is the quarterback for the Seahawks.

Yes, this is Russell Wilson using a Wilson Glove

Behind the design of this glove is Dustin Pedroia and the way that he likes his gloves.  If you did not know, Dustin Pedroia is one of the best infielders in the world.  He plays in the MLB with his Wilson A2000, which means that you can have the same glove feel as him.

Dustin Pedroia Using His A2000

There are two parts of being a great fielder.  One part is having good mechanics and being confident in yourself.  The second part is having great gear that won’t fail on you.  I have seen too many times, in the MLB and all other baseball, gloves failing on the fielder and making them lose the game or look foolish in front of thousands of people.

If you have ever seen a Wilson A2000, you would know that it is one of the best baseball gloves created.  Most infielders use the Wilson A2000, so if you are looking for a great baseball glove I can suggest the Wilson A2000 DP15.

Design

There are a couple of design features that I would like to point out so that you know the most about this glove.

Quicker Break-In

One thing to point out is that the Wilson A2000 DP15 has a quicker break in than most other gloves.  I know that it is important for you to be able to get to playing as soon as you get your glove, so this is a nice feature.

It is easier to break in because of the rolled dual welting, which is how they make this glove.  The way the glove material is made and played out has an impact on the quality. It is definitely known that Wilson makes some of the highest quality gloves out there.

Pedroia Fit

Another thing that I would like to point out to you is the Pedroia fit that is included in the Wilson A2000 DP15.  Yes, A2000s feel great by themselves, but this fit brings it to another level.

The features that come with the Pedroia fit are a tighter fit, longer laces, and a smaller hand opening.  All of those features can help you turn double plays faster and with more confidence.  The confidence comes from knowing that your glove can perform the way you need it.

Stiffness and Durability

One last design feature is the stiffness of the glove. A lot of infielders like the glove being stiff and almost feels like an extension of your hand. The Wilson A2000 does just that.

The other part of this glove being stiff is the durability that comes with it. I know guys that had the same Wilson A2000 for multiple seasons and not missing a beat. It was just so well engineered and thought out that it can perform, even after some seasons in the dirt.

You usually see this in such high-quality gloves so you already know that you will be getting the best bang for your buck with this one.

Overall

Just by sheer popularity, the A2000 is a great pick for a middle infielder.  Keep in mind that just because it feels good on Dustin Pedroia, you might not have the same liking as him.  Do not think that if you have his glove you’ll start playing like him.  You need good mechanics and an abundance of practice.  You might like the feel of the A2000 DP15, but you also might not.  Just a reminder, this glove is tighter, has longer laces, and a smaller hand opening.

Who is this glove for?

I can say that the Wilson A2000 DP15 is a great investment if you are a middle infielder that is serious about your play.  If the game is all you can think about, then I think you and the Wilson A2000 DP15 would be a great fit. It has some nice features to it that affect the feeling of the glove that I know you’ll like.  I certainly was blown away by the way this thing feels and performs.
