All Star Pro Elite Quick Review

The All Star Pro Elite is a great catcher’s glove for any player from high school to college levels. This glove performs so well that even the pros use it! With the Japanese Tanned U.S. Steerhide, this glove is put in front of its competition. This special material allows for this great catcher’s mitt to break in at a rapid rate.  With this, there is no penalty for being able to break in faster as some would think.  One other quick thing that you should know is that it has a profiled toe which cages the ball in a little more.  This helps when there’s a ball in the dirt and it doesn’t hit the sweet spot of the glove.  Even in this situation, the ball will stay in.

Design

Now let’s talk about this mitts design because I do like some of the key features of this glove.  To start off, this glove has the Japanese Tanned U.S. Steerhide material which is why this is a high-quality glove. The next key feature that most people overlook is the combination of the black and tan materials.  You see, each one has its own job in making this glove a great one.  The black material provides nice and firm support that is needed in really controlling a glove. The tan provides a nice and soft surface that adds a great sound and feel. Together they are the dynamic duo that creates a professional-grade glove.

Performance

The All Star Pro Elite performs great behind the plate obviously because of the quality of this glove.  There is so much control here because of the well thought out design that this Mitt sports.  I love the black and tan leather combo that they had because of the support that it has.  For even more control there is an open back for your index finger and a velcro wrist strap. I know that this is not a big deal but all of these things add up to great control.

The comfort that is delivered in this glove is amazing too.  Since the All Star Pro Elite has the special Japanese Tanned U.S. Steer hide, comfort for a catcher’s mitt is redefined. Opening and closing do not require huge forearms, even though you probably have them.
