Rawlings Velo Hybrid Baseball Bat Review

Rawlings Velo Hybrid

The Rawlings Velo Hybrid baseball bat is hailed for its 90+ miles per hour results.

The bat comes with a one-piece alloy construction which has been troublesome for so many manufacturers. Rawlings managed to create a bat which delivers very fast results.

This bat also comes with a few features which make it quite unique. One of those features is the fiber reinforced composite cap.

Velo is also completely in tune with BBCOR regulations and can be a solid option for players looking for an alloy alternative.

Performance

The bat has been well received by the baseball community. It comes with a -3 length to weight ratio and can be used by adults or in college tournaments.

pOp 2.0 Tech

One of the best technologies used with the bat is the pOp 2.0 which manages to elevate the bat to a professional level. The technology comes with an improved weight distribution.

We see the pOp 2.0 tech on some other bats like the Rawlings 5150 which is another awesome baseball bat.

This means players will enjoy a better balance which maximizes its playability and the sweet spot of the bat.

Big Sweet Spot

A larger sweet spot means the bat may also be an option for intermediate players which might feel more comfortable using the latest technologies which make a bat a bit more forgiving.

I know that I always appreciate a good sized barrel. Even though it doesn’t make it that much easier to hit the ball, it gives be the confidence to. Might be just me.

Loud Sound

There is a small learning curve with the bat, especially with the sound. The alloy makes the bat one of the loudest in its category.

A couple of other bats have this feature to them as well. The loud sound is almost intimidating to the other team when you hit the ball. I don’t know why but we connect power to sound sometimes.

The other reason why a loud sound is beneficial to you is because you can hear if you had a good hit. Sometimes when you practice with other bats it isn’t as easy to tell if you had a good hit. You have to hear it as well and you can really get more out of practice.

Design

We did talk about some design specs of the bat before, but here is some more detail that can get you to really know the Rawlings Velo Hybrid.

Shaving Some Weight Off

The one-piece design and alloy construction make for an excellent bat. But the manufacturer also added an end cap which is made from composite with fiber reinforcements.

This has allowed the bat to reduce the weight in unnecessary places like the end of the barrel. I see this a lot nowadays since baseball bats are getting to be their max potential.

The design of the bat comes with a lower weight which means players will have to adapt to the full handling process. It won’t take that long to get used to the handling of this bat.

The design and material choice will also mean the bat is quite loud and players should be aware of this before making a purchase.

However, this should not be an obstacle for the bat on delivering amazing results.

The Rawlings Velo Hybrid baseball bat comes with an attractive price for its materials and design.

As a BBCOR bat, it makes it one of the most versatile products on the market without making you feel there is much effort behind it. It truly performs super well with advanced players, who can quickly adapt to a different and much louder sound.

It is also a great bat for its versatility and it delivers fast speeds constantly.

The fiber inserts also make it quite distinctive in an area where it seems that even the smallest changes can bring the next bat which will outperform most current options.

This is a great bat, I mean really I love this one by Rawlings! With alloy, it will also bring an element of new experiences in an area where real innovation can be lacking.
