Mizuno Franchise Infield/Pitcher Baseball Glove Review

Mizuno Franchise 11.75″ Infield/Pitcher Baseball Glove

The Mizuno Franchise infield baseball glove is a great infielders glove for younger baseball players.  Mizuno has been one of the best glove manufacturers for a long time, always staying at the top.  I have always loved the Mizuno glove series because of the durability and performance.

When I was around 12 years old I sported a Mizuno baseball glove as well.  It was for outfielders but nonetheless has a great design.  It was easy to catch fly balls and take grounders in practice.  It was a great length for me because I was able to learn how to crow hop from the outfield, so it had to touch the ground when I bend over just a little.

The best part was that it didn’t break the bank by any means.  That is also something that I like about Mizuno.

Design

This infielder and/or pitcher baseball glove is an awesome length at 11.75”.  For ages 11-15 I would say this is ideal.  My nephew has a glove that is 11.75” and says that it is perfect for ground balls since he plays second base.  Sometimes players like a small glove but it is solely up to the player.  When I was that age I liked a larger sized glove because it is just easier to trap baseballs in the glove.

Mizuno says that the Mizuno Franchise GFN1175B1NY 11.75″ Infield/Pitcher Baseball Glove has a new type of leather called Java Leather.  I do not know how new this is but the purpose is to add extra support.  The other part of Java Leather is that it is durable and gives more life to the baseball mitt.  I personally like this Java Leather because of the functionality.

The type of lacing on the Mizuno Franchise GFN1175B1NY 11.75″ Infield/Pitcher Baseball Glove is called Hi-Low lacing.  This style allows the glove to have a lot of flexibility to it.  I know that a lot of infielders are going for those really hard baseball gloves that don’t move but I always preferred some flex.

Performance

I really like this glove and know that it performs well throughout the infield.  It is comfortable, flexible, and durable, and all for a low price.  The styles of the laces and web design create a great looking glove with awesome functionality.
