Marucci F5

Another bat that you probably have not heard of, the Marucci F5 is one of my favorites.

The Marucci F5 is an awesome baseball bat for contact hitters.  If you like speed and control, I highly suggest this one to you. There is also some cool design aspects that I will talk about later, but over this is a very nice bat.

Marucci has been one of the leading contenders in the baseball bat game for quite some time now.  Before, Marucci used to only dominate in the wood bat industry.  We saw this with the high quality Marucci MEFMPC.  Now they are showing some strength in the metal bat arena as well.  Marucci is a great company that puts in a lot of craftsmanship into all of their bats.  You see this craftsmanship in the design, as well as the performance.

Design

There are a couple key aspects of the design that I think you’ll like.

For one, the Marucci F5 includes a multi-variable wall design in the barrel of the bat.  One thing that the mulit-variable wall design provides is durability.  It will last you longer and won’t get damaged as easily as other baseball bats.  The second part of the multi-variable wall design is that it creates a greater sweet spot.  This is one of the main things that I like about baseball bats: when the sweet spot is bigger.  This just makes it easier to hit some solid line drives that come off the bat like a rocket.

Another cool thing about this bat is the ring free design on the barrel.  The purpose for doing this is to create a better and equal barrel.  Sometimes on bats with the rings in the barrel, there can be dead spots, so a great hit might not go as far as you thought it would.  This is something that is frustrating to me, but that is why the ring free barrel is awesome.

Performance

Right off the bat, the Marucci F5 has great speed, control, and balance.

Since this bat is a one piece aluminum alloy construction, there is the added speed to your swing.  A common reason to get a one piece like this is to increase your swing speed, allowing you to crush the ball easier.  This is a little more favorable to me since it is just easier to hit the ball.  Also, the baseball bat industry is moving away from top heavy bats, as I’ve seen recently.

A couple of other points that I would like to tell you about the Marucci F5 is that it is BBCOR certified, has a really nice grip on it, and the price of this bat is pretty fair too.

With this bat being BBCOR certified, this just means that you are allowed to play in a lot of leagues around the country.  It’s really just a safety certification that allows you to play.

The grip that is on this bat is a micro-perforated soft touch grip, which is really comfortable.  Micro-perforated grips feel like sponges and allows you to really get a nice and comfortable grip on the bat.  Just be careful because if you leave it out in the rain you can get it waterlogged.
