Easton Zcore 3 Lock & Load Baseball Bat Review

Easton Zcore 3 Lock & Load

The Easton Zcore 3 Lock & Load is one of the most interesting baseball bats that I have seen in a while.

Right off the bat, I need to tell you something about this bat.  The endcap has a place for removable weights that can make your swing faster, or more powerful. Yes, your friends were not lying to you and I think that this is pretty darn cool.  So how this works is this bat comes with a kit that has a little screwdriver that allows you to remove and replace different weights that were made for the bat.

Aside from this, right out of the wrapper there is some major pop that you can even use in the game.  More and more am I seeing technology that allows you to have performance out of the wrapper and I like it.

Anyways let’s get to the review so I can tell you more about the Easton Zcore 3 Lock & Load!

Design

The Easton Zcore 3 Lock & Load has a two-piece design that makes it irresistible to admire.  I love the way that this thing looks, and the giant barrel makes it look even more pretty.

The swing weights are as follows.  There is 3 that are interchangeable to whatever you’re feeling like that day.  There is a speed, balanced, and XL.  They are all pretty self-explanatory as the speed is the lightest, the balanced setting is the most balanced between speed and power, and the XL has the most mass behind the ball that is meant for a power hitter.  I love this aspect and believe that this was inevitable to BBCOR bats to evolve to this technology.

The Easton Zcore 3 Lock & Load has an HMX (Hyperlite Matrix Alloy) material which gives it some extra speed but also great power.  I have no problems with this type of metal on a baseball bat.

On the handle of this bat is Easton’s 1.2MM Hyperskin grip.  This grip is common on Easton baseball bats and it feels great.  It complements the thinner handle on the Easton Zcore 3 Lock & Load.

Performance

Overall I do think that this is a promising design for a baseball bat and think that it has great pop.  I mean right out of the wrapper you can see that you barely have to break it in to have great pop.  Pop is probably one of the best parts of a baseball bat so the more you have the merrier.  In this case, you have an awesome amount of pop because of the material used and the two-piece design.

Also, you can tell that there was a lot of thought that was put into the making of this bat with the lock and load concept.  Now you can buy one bat and get 3 different weights and speeds.  Customizing the way that you play is super important to many players.  Great job by Easton on this bat.
