Easton Z-Core Speed Baseball Bat Review

Easton Z-Core Speed Summary

Easton Z-Core Speed baseball bat comes with an alloy barrel with an improved sweet spot. The Z-Core technology increases the sweet spot while maximizing power. The limited edition BBCOR bat is an attractive option for the enthusiastic player. With an affordable price, it might be one of the top options to move into alloy bats or many players. Easton has made a successful effort in reducing the weight of the bat while also improving its longevity. And while you won’t be spending a fortune to purchase the bat, you can rest assured there is plenty of life in the product as you can use it for years.

Performance

Many players have come to enjoy the low swing of the bat even at increased speeds. This is partly due to the material choice and to the design of the barrel. By the way, this is one of the largest barrels we’ve seen with BBCOR bats. It can be said that the bat doesn’t come with any balance compromises as it handles nicely. It does this without losing the feeling of power which most advanced players need.

With a -3 length to weight ratio, there are plenty options available from the competition, but the Easton Z-Core Speed can be attributed with qualities like power, lightness, and durability. There is a good balance to the bat which is completed by an improved sweet spot make it very attractive. The sweet spot is controlled through the Hyperlite Matrix Alloy technology which has made the bat come with one of the largest BBCOR barrels available today.

Design

The bat comes with a simple design which has improved comfort with the padded grip. While this is enough or most players there are some users which have reported increased vibration and mild discomfort. So where does this vibration occur? It seems that the bat transmits the vibration to the player when the ball is hit towards the handle and in the lower part. That’s it but apart from this players reported no increased vibrations. But this hitting angle might be down to the weight of the bat as some players have reported an unusual heaviness with the product.

So who would enjoy Easton’s Z-Core baseball bat the most? It would be probably the players looking for a bigger barrel, which is considered among the largest with BBCOR. The design of the bat might also appeal to some players but it seems you will need some strength to fully grasp the right technique. The learning curve is also increased with the bat due to the reported heavy feel but it should not take more than a few days to fully grasp the right technique.

If you’re looking for an alloy bat you shouldn’t really be worried about the weight. As a BBCOR bat made from an alloy single-piece design, the Easton Z-Core Speed is a very affordable option. I can recommend this bat to players looking for a composite alternative. Overall this is a great bat and a team-wide favorite.
