Easton XL1 Quick Review

Ok, everybody, this is one of my favorite bats so watch this one.  The Easton XL1 is a baseball bat with an extra-long barrel and an increased sweet spot. The extra-large bat is among the most popular series of products from Easton, together with Mako alternatives. The qualities of the bat make it one of the popular BBCOR choices at all levels. The bat bears not only the popular name so many players know, but also the right qualities in the right hands. If you ask around for a power bat, many people will recommend the XL1. Nowadays it seems the trend is only going to increase with the release of Easton’s latest model.

Performance

The first thing that might be visible in terms of performance is the connector between the two pieces of the bat. Using Easton’s ConneXion technology, the connector does a great job at reducing vibrations or sting when hitting the ball. While a total reduction might be difficult to achieve, you can at least expect a major reduction which is enough to bring the game to a comfortable level.

This is only possible by redirection some of the energy back into the barrel. Many manufacturers try new designs each year to achieve this. Some manage to develop good products while others fail. Easton didn’t only manage to produce a good connector for the two-piece bat but, arguably, the best on the market.

The connector does a great job of focusing the energy on the barrel. The barrel is made from a composite material and follows Easton`s trend of maximizing the sweet spot while focusing on power. The barrel works well in the combination with the carbon handle.

Design

The bat uses some of Easton’s most matured designs, such as the two-piece bat. The composite barrel is connected with the carbon handle which is known for its comfortable inclination. The two pieces deliver solid results being connected through ConneXion. What many players may find surprising, especially moving from a one-piece design, is the ability to lock the bat into a comfortable position and focus on strength without worrying about a sting. This is what makes the bat special and what recommends it as the option to choose for powerful hits.

The bat is recommended and used at many levels. Starting with junior to college use, there are many reasons to choose the XL1 as the bat for powerful shots.

The Easton XL1 baseball bat comes with some of the most up to date technologies we’ve seen in baseball bats. The IMX composite barrel gives the bat big ol’ sweet spot and brings the design to a modern time, where sting is not necessary. The carbon handle does a great job at giving you some more comfort when swinging the bat. So this makes the bat a great option for the powerful players which need the safety of a bat which can make an impact and the comfort of a product which can make them focus on the game and improve essential baseball skills.
