Best Baseball Bats for High School

Hey, everybody here is another buyers guide where I tell you my top picks for the best baseball bats for high school.

High school is an important time for most baseball players. It can be the last season for most players or the beginning of college baseball. This is why it’s nice to make sure that you have the best tool to cherish this moment of your life.

Baseball doesn’t last forever, and you don’t want to end up thinking “I wish I would’ve had a better bat.” I actually was the one thinking that when I was in high school baseball. I won’t name the bat I had, but it wasn’t any good for me.

Make sure that you do your research (which is why you’re here) so you make sure that you choose correctly.

What’s the Criteria?

Before we get into the best baseball bats for high school, there is a couple of things that I look at when I search for the best baseball bats for high school for you. I’m just here to look out for you and do the research for you.

BBCOR

Of course, a baseball bat in high school needs to be BBCOR. By this time everyone should know that BBCOR is important in choosing a baseball bat.

BBCOR is the standard in which baseball bats need to have a certain size and other sciency stuff.

I won’t bore you with all of that jazz but all you need to know that in most high school baseball leagues, you need to have a bat that is BBCOR certified.

I remember one time in high school (I think my sophomore year), there was this kid on my team that had a bat that was not BBCOR.

An illegal bat in baseball is bad news for whoever has it. Once he got a hit, the other team’s coach started to talk to the umpire about the bat. He saw the barrel was giant and it made a weird noise.

His hit then turned into an automatic out and he wasn’t allowed to use it in that game anymore. It was funny since that was the final out of the game and we lost by one with a man on third.

Good catch by the other coach, but it was pretty rough for us. That’s why you always have to follow regulation.

Popularity

I know that this seems a little wrong, but this is a great indicator on which bats work and which bats don’t.

I can’t tell you how many times that I have seen a bat that looked amazing on paper, but when people tried it out, the result didn’t match up. They would be too heavy, or not enough pop.

I went to so many baseball blogs, pages, Instagram pages, and talked with a couple teams to get their feel on what’s the best bats this season. That is how I found which bats work and which don’t.

Don’t get me wrong, these aren’t the only bats in high school baseball, but they are the best in most people’s opinions. Trust me, I do my due diligence when it comes to stuff like this.

I remember one year there was so much hype for one baseball bat, and everyone got it. It came out to be that it wasn’t as good as it was made out to be and everyone regretted their purchase.

There was actually another bat that was like an enhanced version of this bat and it was actually less expensive.

Price

Listen, man, there is no bat that is worth 500 dollars. That is half of one thousand dollars. Do not waste your money on a baseball bat that is that much money.

There are going to be some bats on this list that are a little pricier than others but that does not mean that the higher the price the better the bat.

Image result for money

Sometimes bat manufacturers put a little hefty on the price because they know people are going to buy it no matter what. Guys, please do not go overboard with this.

Did you know that only .05% of high school players make it to the MLB? Most of that half percent play a couple of games and are dropped anyways. So let’s say less than a half of a percent of baseball players in high school make it into the MLB.

That means that you do not have to waste your money for the very best and most expensive baseball bat with all of the bells and whistles just because the price is higher. Do not fall into that trap I am telling you.

I regret big time spending a little too much on baseball bats when I was younger.

Trust me, I know that baseball bats are expensive, but there is a margin where you have to stay in order to not get robbed. The higher the price does not mean the bat is better.

YOU!

I know that I can trust you guys with finding the best bats to look out for this season so I just check what you guys read.

Sometimes I do see some baseball bat reviews that just sit there with cobwebs, but I can definitely tell which ones you guys like, and search for all the time.

First I make sure that they’re adult bats, then I make sure that they follow all of the criteria that I said before.

I know that every review that I have isn’t the sole decider that makes me choose the bats that are on this list so just because it does well on this site does not mean that it’ll do the best on the field.

I say the best because that is what we are going for here.  I use your views as a little insight into what I add to the best baseball bats for high school list.

Now to the Best Baseball Bats for High School!

1) Louisville Slugger Solo 618

The first bat that we have on this list is the Louisville Slugger Solo 618.

There has not only been an overwhelming interest in this bat on thebaseballreviews.com but all over the baseball community.

The Louisville Slugger Solo 618 is not only a good looking bat, it has some premium features to it as well.  If we look at some of the specs, it is a balanced swing, one-piece design, and an SL hyper alloy design.

These are all features that will bring your bat speed up, and make you hit the ball even farther.  Another reason to like this bat is that it has a much lower price compared to other models.

  • SL Hyperalloy Design
  • One Piece Design
  • Lower Price Compared to Other Bats

2) DeMarini Voodoo One

The DeMarini Voodoo series is an iconic style of baseball bat, and many players tend to fall in love with them.

Much like the Louisville Slugger Solo 618, the DeMarini Voodoo One is a one-piece design, with their own x14 aluminum alloy.

The 3fusion technology helps optimize this bat for control and comfortability on the swing.

If you want to check out the price on Amazon click the button below.

  • X14 Aluminum Alloy Design
  • One Piece Design
  • Lower Price Compared to Other Bats

3) Rawlings Quatro

Image result for rawlings quatroAnother pick on the best baseball bats for high school list is the Rawlings Quatro.  The only reason it did not make it higher on the list is because of the price.

Coming in more expensive than the other bats is a little bit of a risky move by Rawlings, but nonetheless, this is a great baseball bat.

One of the best aspects about this bat is the giant barrel. It is almost like a secret weapon for baseball players since this bat is like swinging a tree trunk.

The design aspects on the Rawlings Quatro make it faster, more balanced, and more powerful.

One of the newest technologies on this bat is the hinge connector piece, that gives the bat more flex. To find more on pricing details click on the button below.

  • Heftier price
  • Giant Barrel
  • Hinge Connector Piece

4) Louisville Slugger Prime 918

Image result for louisville slugger prime 918The Louisville Slugger Prime 918 is a great bat because of the awesome design features that make it faster, and more powerful.

One thing about this bat is the two-piece design, that makes it different than some of the other bats on this list.

Another cool thing about this bat and why it’s good for high school is because of the 100% composite design. Not only does it feel more dynamic, but it is much lighter and can increase your swing speed.

The Prime 918 is Louisville’s best bat in this series since it has the highest number (918).  With that being said the price is also a little higher.

If you would like to check out the price on Amazon click the button below and it will bring you right to the Amazon page.

  • Two Piece Design
  • Full Composite Design
  • Best Out of the Louisville Slugger Series

The last bat that is on best baseball bats for high school list is the Rawlings Velo.  Just because it is last, certainly does not mean that it is least.

This thing looks like something a cyborg from the future would use. The color scheme is brilliant and new. That’s one of the cool things about the Rawlings Velo.

Next Review  Louisville Slugger Select Hybrid 719 Bat Review

The reason that this bat made the list is because of its great design features.  The Rawlings Velo has a laser etched groove in the barrel in order to improve flexibility.

It is a one-piece design like some of the other bats on this list which makes it a little faster, and cheaper.

One of the cool features is that it is engineered to make a loud ping on the hit just to add a little but of a flashy aspect. I really do like this bat as well and the price is pretty reasonable.

To check it out on Amazon click the button below.

  • Loud Ping Sound
  • One Piece Design
  • Reasonable Price

Summing Up

Ok, guys that wraps up my list of the best baseball bats for high school. I hope you guys got some great value from that and consider one of these bats.

When I went to my nephew’s games to see these bats being used by high schoolers, they all seemed to like them. I did get to try them out myself but seeing actual high schoolers in action, using these bats was what is important.

One thing you can consider for the more expensive bats is pooling a couple of your friend’s money together and investing in a bat like the Rawlings Quatro together.  Yes, baseball bats have always been expensive, but once you split it up there is no telling how low you can get the price.

I did that when I was in high school, and it worked.  If there was an expensive bat, one kid on our team would pay for it and we would all pay him back our share.  Seems pretty fair and everyone gets to enjoy one of these premium bats in high school.

Thanks for checking this list out and make sure that you visit thebaseballreviews.com again to find the best and most relatable reviews on all things baseball!
