Best Baseball Bats Under $100

Looking for a budget bat?

I know why you’re here, I would be here too. I don’t like spending all of my money on baseball bats. If I’m not going to the MLB, I’m having fun, so why break the bank? I wish I had a guide of the best baseball bats under $100, so I made one for you!

When I was little Chris, playing baseball, every season my father would take me to Dicks Sporting Goods, and we’d pick out a baseball bat. Most of the time the baseball bats would be well over $100. Even at this time, I was cheap (I was raised right), so I’ve always been on the hunt for baseball bats at a lower price.

Even though they’re not the highest quality, or have the newest technology, you can still play baseball and have fun. That’s what it’s all about! A lot of people forget that baseball isn’t all about the gear, but just enjoying the game.

Another misconception is people thinking that getting an expensive baseball bat means that they will automatically get better. I remember seeing kids on my team do twice as better with a budget baseball bat, rather than the new hot-shot baseball bat with all the bells and whistles.

Quick Note: A budget baseball bat is one that performs as well as you need it to, but has a much lower price. Usually, when you buy a budget anything, the price is the more important part.

Even though I do like a lower price, sometimes you can’t make up for the higher-quality. So if you are in competitive college baseball right now, this might not be for you.

This is the best bat buying guide for best baseball bats under $100 on the internet. If you want to see what’s up with any baseball bat, read one of my reviews.

What Do I Look For?

When I picked these bats and added them to my list, there were three things that I look for:

The first one is obvious. I made sure that they were the best baseball bats under $100. It would kinda beat the purpose of this list if they were over $100. Yes, I was tempted to add a couple bats that were a little bit over $100, but I won’t cheat you guys out.

The second thing is that I made sure that these bats had the correct certifications so that you can play without being kicked out. The last thing that you want is buying a baseball bat that is nice, but you can’t play with it in your league. An example of this is the BBCOR certification on most baseball bats. Some bats that I saw did not have this, so that is why I did not add them to the list.

The final thing that I looked at was the design features of the baseball bat. Yes, some of these baseball bats that are under $100 were not that good. You can probably imagine what you can get on Amazon for under $100 (baseball bat wise).

You deserve the best of the best, so I went researching for days, trying to find the best baseball bats under $100 I can add to my top 5.

Before I show you the list…

Before I show you this list of the best baseball bats under $100, I want to let you know that you can perform well with these bats. If you’re reading this for fun, do not think that since they’re not of the best baseball bats on the planet, these will not perform to what you need. They definitely can blow you away.

When I was in high school, there were about three kids (out of 70) that could actually hit home runs. The best part is that it was once a season or every so often. Chances are that every single baseball player isn’t knocking one over the fence. If you are looking for base hits and line drives, then these should suit you.

If you are one of the kids who are looking for a high-performance bat, I understand where you’re coming from. That’s why I made a list of best baseball bats, and new 2018 baseball bats. Don’t worry, I got you covered!

I remember when the Rawlings 5150 came out at first, it was a budget bat. No one thought it would be good because of the basic design, and cheap price. Now it is one of the best baseball bats on the market, for those reasons. If you see it on this list, just know it’s also on my best baseball bats list. You never know if simplicity is what you need.

The last thing that I want to point out is that all of these baseball bats are on Amazon. If you want to check these bats out, just click the button below each bat listing and it will take you right to Amazon. Pretty neat, huh?

Ok, enough talking. Let’s get to it!

Best Baseball Bats Under $100

1) Easton S650

Coming in at number one the Easton S650 is an amazing choice for a baseball bat under $100. This bat even competes with baseball bats of higher qualities. I remember when I first reviewed the Easton S650, I was surprised by the price of this bat, with the quality that is put into it. Like I said before, simplicity might be what you are looking for. A basic design lowers the price and gives you all of the things that you need.

Pros:

  • Strong aluminum alloy barrel
  • Has a 2 ⅝ barrel diameter
  • Comfortable grip

Cons:

  • Slightly end-loaded

2) Rawlings Prodigy

The Rawlings Prodigy is just like the Rawlings 5150, but cheaper. The difference between this bat and the second bat on this list is that this one is adult-sized, which just means that this is not a youth baseball bat. With a nice size barrel, and a strong aluminum alloy material, you can see why this bat made the list. The Rawlings prodigy is another great choice, especially for high school baseball, college baseball, and any senior leagues that allow -3 bats.

Pros:

  • Good Barrel size
  • Adult baseball bat
  • Strong aluminum material
  • Large sweet spot

Cons:

  • Might need a little getting used to in the cages

3) Rawlings 5150 (Youth)

The Rawlings 5150 is probably one of my favorite baseball bats ever created. It’s inexpensive and has supernatural power to it. The Rawlings 5150 has a big barrel and is made out of strong aluminum. Since this is a youth baseball bat, the barrel is scaled down smaller than it usually is in adult sizes. The Rawlings 5150 also is a one-piece design, which makes it very responsive and fast. Rawlings also optimized the 5150 for great bat speed, which leads to more solid hits.

Pros:

  • Proven to be one of the best baseball bats
  • Optimized bat speed
  • Strong aluminum alloy material
  • One piece design

Cons:

  • Depending on your preference, you might want to change the grip tape

4) Louisville Slugger Youth 125 Maple Genuine Unfinished Wood Bat

This wood bat from Louisville Slugger is surprisingly cheap, but still has great quality to it. This baseball bat has an unfinished handle, which means that there is no gloss or resin on the handle. This can be a bad thing because the wood is not protected as much if it did have an outer coating on it.The bright side is that the barrel has finish on it. That can be one of the reasons why it is underpriced. Wood bats are usually less expensive so I thought I’d add one to the list. It is a great baseball bat and I believe that it will give you good play for a little price.

Pros:

  • Great bat design
  • Great value for the price

Cons:

  • The cheaper the wood bat, the more likely it is to break
  • It is not the highest quality (but can still last you if you treat it right)

5) Easton S450

If you think I’ve been neglecting the high school and college crowd, here’s another one for you. The Easton S450 is an awesome one-piece aluminum baseball bat. Much like the number one choice, the Easton S650, this bat can definitely perform well. For the price that it is listed at, this is a steal. If you want to generate speed, this balanced one-piece bat is definitely the one for you. With the strong military grade aluminum, it is also durable and can help you generate the power you need to send frozen ropes to the outfield.

Pros:

  • Military grade aluminum
  • Fast swing speed
  • Less expensive than the S650

Cons:

  • Can generate harsh vibrations on a bad hit

Honorable Mentions

These baseball bats might’ve not made the cut because they’re over $100. Let’s check these out and see if they’re going to be the one.

1) Louisville Slugger Omaha 518

This bat has been getting buzz over the past season, and rightfully so. The giant aluminum barrel on the Omaha 518 is almost unfair for the other team. You know that I’m a sucker for barrels like this. Another great thing about this bat is that it is a one-piece design. Some people might not like that but it can generate some speed, and lower the price.

Pros:

  • Mid-Balanced for control
  • Huge Barrel
  • Has been noticed by a lot of players

Cons:

  • Depending on the size you get, can be more over the price range

2) Rawlings 5150

You might be thinking that I already have this bat on the list up there, but I don’t.  The Rawlings 5150 that I showed before is a youth bat.  This one is its adult/(-3) counterpart.  I love this baseball bat because of the super strong alloy construction and the one piece design.  Another awesome thing about the Rawlings 5150 is the huge barrel.  For a premium adult baseball bat, you can’t get much better for the price.

Pros:

  • Pop 2.0 technology for better pop
  • Large barrel
  • Strong 5150 alloy

Cons:

  • Depending on the size you get, can be more over the price range

So as you can see, there are a lot of options if you don’t want to break the bank every season. Do not be ashamed of wanting to save a little money when buying an expensive tool.  All of these bats will do you just fine.

Thanks for reading this buyer’s guide for the best baseball bats under $100.  I hope you like it and make sure to share it with your friends if you want to help them save a little too.
