2020 Louisville Slugger Prime Baseball Bat Review

Hey, guys it Chris again with another awesome baseball bat review. The all-new 2020 Louisville Slugger Prime bat is one that I have been waiting to get my hands on for a little bit.

I took a couple of swings with this baby in the cage and man can I tell you that this bat is the bomb.

Not only is it the bomb, but it can hit bombs too. Get it?

I really like the Louisville Slugger lineup this year because each bat is like a build-off of the last one. I can tell that Louisville definitely went a more uniform route, much different than Easton’s lineup this year.

Keep reading if you want to see how the 2020 Louisville Slugger does in the cage, who it’s for, and the main features of this bat and the whole LS lineup!

Features

Alrighty, let’s start off with the main features that the 2020 Louisville Slugger Prime has.

For one, we have an AVC composite barrel that is BBCOR approved. The main takeaway in regards to the barrel is that it’s a little smaller than the Meta and Meta PWR Louisville Slugger bats. It has a quick swing through the zone, which I like.

It’s like the perfect amount of sweet spot while not making it heavy at all. Uncle Chris Likey!

The next thing I want to talk about is the VCX connection system. It does a good job of giving good feel to the swing while also dampening vibrations. Being a baseball player from New Jersey, I know the importance of vibration dampening systems. When it gets cold enough for fall ball and you’re practically playing in the snow, it can be life or death.

Lastly, we got an RTX end cap on the 2020 Louisville Slugger Prime. This just basically maximizes the barrel.

Next, we’ll look at who this bat is for.

Who is the LS Prime for?

Like I said before, I was taking some cuts with this bat and it was nice and quick through the zone.

This bat is meant for the average baseball player that needs an all-around baseball bat. It has good pop, it’s got a stiff cut, and it is pretty quick through the zone.

If you are looking for something a little heavier look into the Louisville Slugger Meta models.

In the Cage

I used this bat along with the other 2020 bats for a little in the cage. What I can say is that it is pretty awesome.

Getting around on the ball was a little easier because of the balance and weight distribution. Once you start moving up in age and leagues the pitching gets faster and faster. That’s why I prefer a lighter, quicker bat like this one.

Other than that I saw some decent pop, and a nice sound when I connected well with the ball.

Sum Up

Should you get this bat? I think so.

Especially if you were already looking at the Louisville Slugger Prime and just looking for some validation.

If you were just browsing around and looking for a new baseball bat, I think this is a great all-around bat for any player. Especially since it’s BBCOR certified.
