Hey guys, it’s time for one of my favorite baseball bats of all time: the 2019 Rawlings 5150.
This bat caught my eye when I was playing high school ball and though I never bought one, it became one of my favorite bats.
Now we’ll talk about the newest 2019 Rawlings 5150 and at the end I’ll tell you if you should pick one up.
First off, let’s get into some important details about the 2019 Rawlings 5150.
For one thing, the 2019 Rawlings 5150 can be used by pretty much all ages and groups.
The 2019 Rawlings 5150 has BBCOR, USA, and USSSA certification. This is really awesome for all baseball players.
It comes it pretty much all the drop sizes as well (-3,-5,-8,-10) which again just means more players get to use the 2019 Rawlings 5150.
The last thing that I want to point out is that the 2019 Rawlings 5150 is a one piece alloy construction. I’ll talk more about this later but it’s a good thing.
Now lets get into the features of this bat.
So for one, let’s talk about the one piece alloy construction. This means that there is the maximum amount of pop in this bat since there is no disconnect from the hands to the barrel.
The downside to that is the vibrations that you can get now from it being one piece.
This bat has a huge barrel and sweet spot. That has been one of my favorite things about the 5150 series throughout the years.
There is a technology called pOp 2.0 which Rawlings utilizes to get some crazy pop on their bats.
Very big fan of that.
A Hyper-Lite speed endcap means that the bat can get a little more speed through the zone. Also a little more control on the swing.
There’s great benefits to that, especially for the younger kids.
Rawlings updated the barrel this year to make the 2019 Rawlings 5150 have a bigger sweetspot and better control.
Speaking of better control, the redesigned bat grip is great and works well with the 2019 Rawlings 5150.
Now let’s get into how I think of this year’s model and if you should get one.
What I Think of the 2019 Rawlings 5150
The 2019 Rawlings 5150 is a 200% instant buy for me. I mean this thing has everything that a batter wants.
It has a giant barrel, comfortable to swing through the zone, crazy pop, and most of all one of the cheapest bats on the market.
With all of that together it is almost a no-brainer for me.
Rawlings makes their bats super durable and they’ll make sure you’re taken care of.
