Introduced with two brother bats, the 2018 Rawlings Velo is no joke.  It has some of the best technology in baseball and proves to be a high-quality baseball bat.  This bat actually has the most acoustic alloy on the market.  This means that you can really cause some attention to you.  Talk about a secret weapon when being scouted.

Rawling’s promise is to always be above the standard, which I have seen over the years.  Rawlings is one of the best baseball bat manufacturers in the United States today.  You can see all of their products being used in the major leagues all the time.  Little did you know that Rawlings invented football pads too, so they are needle-movers a lot of sports that we play.  I definitely love Rawlings and the products they produce.

Design

The 2018 Rawlings Velo is a one-piece aluminum alloy design.  The aluminum is actually the loudest I have ever heard which is awesome.  I tend to favor one-piece designs because of the bat speed that these types of bats have.  Since it is all one piece, there is much better weight distribution that is included in this bat.  Even though it still is a drop three (-3) length to weight ratio (like all other bats used in high school and college), it feels lighter when you swing because it is not top-heavy.

This bat is BBCOR certified which means you can use it in most leagues across America.  These are just regulations created so the players fielding the ball aren’t injured from a baseball coming too hard off the bat.

The end cap on this bat is a lightweight composite material which means that there is less drag on your swing.  There are some bats that have heavy endcaps and it slows down your swing because it is top-heavy.  Those bats are meant for power hitters, not contact hitters.

Performance

With the lightweight swing and one-piece design, this bat has some great pop and bat speed.  These are the two things you need to hit nice line drives and base hits.  With that being said this bat is made for the contact hitter.  What I mean by that is that it is meant to get the bat out there and hit base hits.  You can hit far with this bat but it is not meant for the power player, these players need a heavier bat that can really get some weight behind the ball.

Nonetheless, this is an amazing baseball bat that I would get.  I recommend this bat for players that have some experience in high school baseball.  This is because the 2018 Rawlings Velo is a high-quality bat and if you’re not sure about your style yet, you want to start cheaper.
