2018 DeMarini Voodoo One

This DeMarini is a shocking change for me, and I’m liking it.

The 2018 DeMarini Voodoo One is one awesome bat, used by college players and high school players around the country.  All of the new designs and technologies that DeMarini engineered into this bat really expands their brand.

DeMarini has been known for top heavy bats for power hitters a while ago.  Now they are bringing in the 2018 DeMarini Voodoo One which is a shocking change of pace for them.

I remember in high school ball I actually had a DeMarini Voodoo, and it was really top-heavy.  Back then I tried getting into power hitting but like I’ve said before, that is an acquired taste.  It’s mainly for the big guys, which I was not.  Now they have a bat that would’ve spoken my language, but it is your turn now.

Design

One of the first things that I pick up from this bat is the awesome design.  All of the colors flow together and create a sunset/fire feel from the colors.  Definitely, a menacing looking bat if you ask me.

The crazy thing about the all-new 2018 DeMarini Voodoo One is that it is a one-piece aluminum design. Balance and bat speed is now the norm for DeMarini as they’ve shown with this beauty.  The material they use is an X14 aluminum alloy metal, which is common for aluminum baseball bats.  I personally like the X14 alloy material and think it handles well with bat speed and durability.

The X14 also helps maintain a great balance, which is the next part I want to talk about.  The balance on the 2018 DeMarini Voodoo One is great, which means you can swing faster.  You know what they say about swinging faster, hitting harder.  Personally, this is a must for me and I am a firm believer that a greater bat speed means a farther ball.

One of the last special features of the design is the 3fusion end cap.  DeMarini says that this is the part that brings it all together.  It keeps the bat optimized for control and feel.

Performance

Like I said before, there is amazing bat speed and control on the 2018 DeMarini Voodoo One.  That is the best thing about one-piece designs.  One-piece designs have great control and balance.

I noticed that with other bats that are top-heavy, the barrel tends to dip, especially if you aren’t used to it.  Personally, this screws me up if I’m swinging and not thinking.  That is why if you have this problem, this would be a great bat for you.

With the X14 alloy metal that is included in the design, the bat is really tough and durable.  You can probably use this bat for a couple seasons before you have to start looking again.  The other part of the X14 aluminum alloy is the pop that is brought from it.  That is why there are many bats out there that also use X14 aluminum alloy.

The 2018 DeMarini Voodoo One is a great bat for the contact hitter as well.  The contact hitter is one who looks for the first pitch and tries to get on base every time.
